The Santa Fe Hill Climb is exactly what it says: only the climb matters. You line up at Mager's Field on Bishops Lodge Road and grind straight up NM 475 to the Ski Santa Fe parking lot, then coast the descent back down at your own pace — no clock on the way home.
It is a non-USAC, run-what-you-brought affair. "Ride your skinny tire (or fat, who are we to judge?) bike" is the organizers actual stance, so roadies, gravel rigs, and the merely curious are all welcome. Roll-out is 7:30am from Magers Field, 490 Bishops Lodge Rd.
A proper high-country sufferfest with a payoff to match: you finish up at the ski area, well above town, having earned every single foot of that elevation.
